Best Buy 6.1 Receiver I'm New To Home Theater And Audio. In Laymans Terms What's A Crossover Switch & How/why Do I Need Or Use It?

I'm new to home theater and audio. In laymans terms what's a crossover switch & how/why do I need or use it? - best buy 6.1 receiver

I'm trying to decide what medium to buy low-end receiver for me (6.1 or 7.1 theater) interior. The list of speakers (8 ohms) and a passive subwoofer (4 ohms), but you do not know why you can switch back and a crossover. Thank you.

A cross divides the frequencies normally go the speakers. Your subwoofer is not good at high frequencies and can cause poor sound quality in this area. The same with normal speakers. You can not meet the minimum requirements they should. The crossing will allow for this route through the frequencies of the speakers directly on the right side. It also helps you as much power speakers.

Most receivers have a built-in switch cross.
Controlling the frequency of audio threshold between the subwoofer and other speakers of the other switch
